At least one automobile manufacturer does not appear worried about the financial crisis, oil prices or pesky environmental concerns. Aston Martin revealed the latest addition to their range at the Paris Motor Show this week. Introducing the “Most expensive car in the World” -
The limited edition Aston Martin one-77
Just one hundred will be made, and according to Aston Martin, they have already sold out. Price? £1.2 million. That is British pounds, so around $2 million US, depending on the exchange rate. With a 7.0 liter V12 engine, aluminum body and carbon fiber chassis, the one77 should out-perform just about everything else on the road, and makes the Bugatti Veyron, the previous holder of the most-expensive car record look almost cheap.
Bigger, faster, more expensive seems to be the theme of this year’s Paris Motor Show, and here is a small selection of photographs of new and up-dated models.
This one holds a special memory for me. The first car I ever owned was a Citroen 2CV. To celebrate their 60th birthday, Hermes created a special edition complete with all leather interior. Ah, those were the days…..
