Ben Stiller buys in Riverside
No, Ben Stiller didn’t buy in California’s Inland Empire. He spent $10,000,000 on a duplex on Riverside Drive, according to the New York Observer’s Manhattan Transfers.
Personally, I’ve grown tired of Stiller’s schtick. Oh, I enjoyed There’s Something About Mary (lawsy gracious has it really been ten years since that movie was made? have mercy) and even watched Night at the Museum (it had its moments). But Zoolander (yeah, yeah, not recent, but pretty much the start of his movie decline)? Tropic Thunder? The “guy” movies that Stiller and Sandler and Ferrell put out of late are just grating and formulaic and boring.
Anyhoo, Stiller’s parents live in the same prewar co-op, so it seems he may want to be be closer to them. Neither Jerry Stiller nor Anne Meara are getting any younger, you know (don’t get me wrong here - I think it’s sad yet inevitable that we all watch our parents get older).
The Observer reports that while Stiller’s name wasn’t on the deed, the trust’s address is his. And the apartment wasn’t on the market.
It’s rumored that Stiller and his wife Christine Taylor are planning to move into the building, but none of Stiller’s people confirmed that information. By the by, Taylor is known for such movies as The Brady Bunch (Marsha, Marsha, Marsha!), The Wedding Singer (oh, good lord, it’s been 10 years since that one, too), and even Stiller’s own Dodgeball and Zoolander.
(I know I promised another post. I’ll get you one, really I will. Still having some connection issues here. My sincerest apologies, dearest ones.)
