It is not often we feature a home for sale, but this one, which will be our “Home of the week,” through March 15th, took my fancy.

Situated a short walk from the Beach at Tower Road Park, one of the best coffee shops in Winnetka, Café Aroma, and Hubbard Woods Park, which has been used as a backdrop for several famous movies, including “Home Alone,” Winnetka offers just about everything one could ask for in terms of lifestyle.

The agent, Phyllis Rothschild of Coldwell Banker, describes it as “Fabulous California-style living,” although my feeling is that it could perhaps do with some “California-style pricing,” to go with the living. Having said that,  the price was recently reduced from $6.2 million to $4.8 million, Despite the fact that lending issues and lack of buyer commitment are widespread, the North Shore market is an active one – there were 4 contracts signed in Phyllis Rothschild’s Winnetka office this weekend alone.
