Luxury property developer found guilty of murder

A wealthy British luxury property developer has been found guilty of murdering a caretaker who stood in the way of a £2.3 million property sale. It would appear that Thanos Papalexis, the son of a Greek shipping company magnate, is not the sharpest tool in the box, after he admitted the murder to a prostitute and former girlfriend, who appeared at the trial.

The original idea was to develop another luxury condo building in a warehouse in London, but when financing became tight and another deal fell through, Mr. Papalexis was offered £2.3 million – a quick £300k profit – if he could get the sitting tenant out. Mr Papalexis saw an opportunity to buy and sell the warehouse for a quick profit but was unable to persuade the older man to leave his home, and murdered him instead.

Mr. Papalexis is currently awaiting sentencing and is likely to receive a life sentence due to the callous nature of the crime. The caretaker, Charalambos Christodoulides, 55, had apparently received a head injury while working for the family, and had spent most of his adult life living in the warehouse in London.

The property deal fell though in any case, along with a number of other high profile deals, including a private member’s club that never provided any facilities. Papalexis was arrested in Palm Beach in November last year after police spent years building up a case.

That is terrible to hear of such a tragedy. How long did he think he’d get away with it?

Goodness knows – As I( said, I don’t think he is the sharpest tool in the box.
