Luxury Walkthrough – Worst Real Estate Videos on Youtube

by Mark Knowles on December 23, 2008

Oh dear. Oh dear me. Oh good grief!

It has been a while since I featured one of my favorite “worst real estate video on youtube.” Mainly because everyone seemed to be doing the same thing: Not using a tripod, moving around while speaking to the camera, not tidying the house, not lighting the home correctly, or some other similar mistake. This video is the first one I have come across that manages to completely mangle the idea of a luxury walkthrough video, while at the same time doing what appears to be the correct things. Take a look and see what you think. Oh dear……

A few adjustments, such as hiring a professional videographer, bothering to edit the resulting video, not allowing the viewer to feel ill every time the camera switches focus……. I can’t go on. Needless to say, this video has been up on youtube since April of this year, and has been viewed 553 times. I am sure the husband of the realtor got a kick out of trying out his new video camera, but still. “You have these luxury light fittings,” violent upward shift of the camera as husband realises it needs to be pointing at the ceiling……

Real estate videos do not have to be and should not be this awful. It does not cost millions of dollars to produce a decent video, and I do believe that producing a video this poor is worse than not producing one at all. And to calm your stomach after watching that last one, here is a gentle, soothing high-quality video. The Zen Mansion by Luxury Film.
