Nick Cage selling out of Las Vegas
The WSJ recently wrote about Nicolas Cage’s property in Las Vegas, on the market for $9,950,000. According to Mr. Big Time, Cage paid $8,500,000 for the home in 2006.
The original listing (which we can’t link to because it’s one of those damn Flash sites – yes, the entire thing; alternate listing is here) puts the house at 14,000 square feet with seven bedrooms, nine bathrooms, and a sixteen (yes, that’s one-six) car garage. Room for a large car collection, and a sight more cars than we’ve owned in our entire lives. Yeesh.
The monstrous home is in a gated community (of course) with a tennis court, theatre room, guest quarters, a generator (of all things), and some damn fine Vegas strip views. Oh, and it’s two story so it has an elevator as well.
Cage is the nephew of director Francis Ford Coppola, and one of the most steady-working actors in Hollywood. A quick glance at his credits shows he has eight films in some stage of production. He’s been in some real stinkers (Honeymoon in Vegas, anyone?), but there are several of his movies we like: Captain Corelli’s Mandolin, Guarding Tess (we didn’t say we could explain why we like some of them), and Moonstruck. He won an Oscar for his role in Leaving Las Vegas.
