Trump Opens First Luxury Property in Waikiki in 20 Years
It is certainly good to report something positive in the luxury real estate world for a change, and the first new luxury property in Waikiki for 20 years is it. It is 3 years since the Trump International Hotel and Tower Waikiki Beach Walk was launched and she officially accepted her first guests on Monday with an opening ceremony featuring traditional dancing and music from Hawaii.
The hotel features 462 guest rooms and suites, plus a spa and the scramble to buy suites in the condo hotel section when the launch was made pushed average prices up to $1.5 million as the units sold out in less than a day. These area few shots from the opening ceremony, and the full series of photographs can be found here – Trump Waikiki opening.
The main attraction will apparently be the Trump Attaché service which sounds like a concierge on steroids. “We won’t wait until you ask us for something, we’ll call and find out your needs, and on your return, we will have noted your preferences and taken care of them,” boasted John Vostis, the director of marketing. Sadly, most of the suites are privately owned, so I very much doubt I will be experiencing this first hand.
