Mariska Hargitay, probably best known for her role as Det. Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU, is moving on up to the Upper East Side and leaving her place on Sixth Avenue. The three bedroom, 3.5 bath, 4800 square foot condo in the O’Neill building is listed for $8.25 million.
The NYT reports that Hargitay’s 2-year-old son was admitted to an Upper East Side preschool. With 16-hour workdays, Hargitay and hubby Peter Hermann just don’t have time to go back and forth between home, work, and the preschool. (Anyone else keep getting the Jeffersons’ theme song stuck in their head every time they read “East Side”?)
This sale is a fairly quick turnaround, as they just bought the place last year for $7 million. Which, by the way, is a season’s salary for Ms. Hargitay. We had no idea she was earning beaucoup bucks for that gig, but do admit we like to watch it once in a while. You have to be careful about those Law & Order marathons, though. They totally suck you in.
Of course, we also didn’t know that the lovely Hargitay’s mother was the voluptuous Jayne Mansfield. We’re really going to have to brush up on our celebrity spawn, aren’t we?

Nah, I’d never paid attention to that stuff, believe it or not. Just didn’t care what the tv actors were making before.
